A ten-point e-bike inspection checklist for orders of 50 units or more.

What is checked, in what order, and what has to be fixed in writing before the inspection means anything.

In short: on orders of 50 units or more, every unit is inspected at the shipping location before dispatch, covering frame, motor, battery and accessories. The inspection is only meaningful if the specification it is checked against is the same one in the order confirmation - which is why the checklist starts before production.

The ten points

Frame, motor, battery and accessories.

Applied to every unit, not to a sample of the order.

  • Specification is fixed in writing before production starts.
  • Components match the confirmed build sheet, including motor, controller and battery pack.
  • Assembly completeness: every unit is checked, not a sample of the order.
  • Battery fitment, connector seating and charge behaviour are checked per unit.
  • Brake operation and wheel true are checked per unit.
  • Display, lights and assist behaviour are checked against the confirmed configuration.
  • Carton protection, accessory bag and spare-parts allocation match the order.
  • Shipping marks and labels match the destination market documents.
  • Inspection is completed at the shipping location before dispatch.
  • The inspection result is recorded against the order, not against a sample.

Before the inspection

Three things that have to be fixed first.

An inspection against the wrong specification finds the wrong problems.

  • The specificationThe build sheet, the order confirmation and the approved sample must describe the same product. If they do not, stop and fix that first.
  • The packing planCarton protection, accessory bag and spare-parts allocation, agreed before production so the inspection can check against it.
  • The marking requirementShipping marks and labels for the destination market, agreed in writing so the inspection can verify them.

Why 50 units and not fewer?
Below that volume the practical route is a sample or a pilot batch, which is inspected as part of the sample process. From 50 units the order is inspected unit by unit before dispatch.
Does the inspection happen at my warehouse?
No. It runs at the shipping location, before the goods leave. No destination inspection is offered and none is claimed.
Can my own inspector attend?
Yes. A third-party inspection can be arranged at the buyer's cost; coordinate the timing so it happens before dispatch and confirm the arrangement in the quotation.
Is the inspection a sample check?
No. Every unit in the order is checked against the confirmed specification - frame, motor, battery and accessories.
